Teradata University Network Announces Competition and Scholarships for Students to Present Research at PARTNERS Customer Conference
PR Newswire

Deadline July 1 for poster contest and scholarship applications for October conference in Nashville

ATLANTA, April 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradata University Network will extend its mission of providing college students and faculty hands-on learning about analytics and big data by hosting its first poster contest for college students.

To compete, students have until July 1 to submit abstracts describing their projects on applying analytics. Finalists of the contest will be invited to the Teradata PARTNERS User Group Conference and Expo in Nashville on October 19 to 23 to present their projects on posters and to make short formal presentations. They will be offered scholarships to cover the conference registration fee, conference meals and conference events.

The annual PARTNERS event brings together thousands of business and technology leaders from around the world to share best practices and leading-edge innovations in analytics and data management.

"This is an opportunity for students and faculty to expand their knowledge and understanding of managing the complexities of data. They can learn about new techniques and approaches for applying analytics to real-world business situations. They can also network with Teradata executives and with data professionals from some of the world's leading companies. We are excited to provide students and faculty opportunities to be a part in this event," said Teradata University Network Director Susan Baxley.

In addition to the poster contest, Teradata is offering scholarships to attend the PARTNERS conference in the form of new, highly reduced academic rates of $250 for students and $500 for faculty.

Undergraduate, graduate or doctoral level students do not need to compete in the poster presentations to apply for the scholarships. Faculty scholarships are open to professors, instructors and adjunct faculty.

Additional information and the submission and scholarship forms are on the Teradata University Network website http://bit.ly/1hVsgZR. Students selected to present their research and all scholarship winners will be notified August 1.
